Learn a lesson about jumping car battery after leaving lights on. The battery won't be the same after it has been drained down, then jumped. You will jump it and drive it home, the car won't start as strong. You need to charge it on a slow (drip charger) for 24 hours. This will completely charge the chemical reaction within the battery cell. If the battery is drained down and is only jumped. Then drained again, most of the time it will be unable to hold a charge. Remember to check the water level in the battery after it has been dained down. It may need water added. The water should cover the top of the lead bar inside. It is worth spending the money to buy a drip charger, rather than buying a new battery. What happens is when a battery is drained. It uses up the energy it had from the alternator rechargeing. Then it uses up the energy of the chemical reaction between the acid and the metals in the cell. Witch is the 12 volts that it needs to hold a full charge. Jumping it will quickly inject energy into the batterys chemicals, but won't restore the acid-metals reaction to 12 volts. Meaning the total peak amperage will be less. So a new battery produced 700 amps from a 12 volt cell. Then was drained down and jumped. Now has been made to provide energy again but won't hold as much energy. Because now the cells chemical reaction is only 10 volts. So the peak amps are now only 575. Those main volts that are the base for the energy holding liquid. Get weaker when the battery is drained. If the base gets too weak, the liquid won't hold enough energy to start the car. Jumping it will not alow enough time for the acids to absorb the electrons. Only slowly feeding the elecrons into the acids atoms, will give the acid atoms enough time to add more electrons to its orbit.
